Februrary Read Aloud Month!

As part of our Rebuilding {Home} effort, we read aloud for almost every night in February!
One particularly busy day, we all came home, ate dinner, finished what needed to be done for the evening, and folded into our beds exhausted. It wasn't until the next morning when I saw the book sitting on the table did I realize we didn't read aloud!
For our book we read The Call of the Wild, and it was a really great story. The descriptive writing was something we all enjoyed!
We finished the book with still about 10 days left of February, and so we picked up a copy of Aesop's Fables. We read a few each night, with each one of us finding a favorite. I have heard that when reading Aesop's Fables, the reader shouldn't read the moral to the listeners, but rather just allow them to decipher it on their own. While I do think there is value in reading the fables this way, we all enjoyed reading the moral and then the discussions that followed.
